Bottle from NYBEER, thanks! Batch 64. Pour is deep orange with a nice off white head and nice lacing. Nose is heavy wood, floral citrus and wine like. Flavor is woody and bitter with some sweetness coming along in the finish. Mouthfeel is full and creamy. Oak flavor and aroma increase with warming.

Bottle at home. Dark amber - offwhite head. High woody & hoppy aroma. Taste: Wood wood wood - not the designer team, raisins, dried dark fruits, high malty, caramel, heavy hoppy, medium sweetness, chokolate, I can’t mention it enough ---- Wood, lots of wood and dryness form the wood, oak, coconut and vanilla notes. Light candlevax..... this is very nice and very powerfull.

Batch 64 bottle from Epeeist. Many thanks to Chris for this gem! Pours with a nice small head with microbubbles that keeps replenishing itself with small streams of bubbles from the glass. Cloudy thick amber liquid. Aroma was initially a bit funky on pour, but after typing for a minute, the aroma becomes and excellent combination of forward oak, butter (not diacetyl) and malty subdued caramelization. First taste is heaven. Oh man that was good. So smooth, and mellow, and creamy. A perfect amount of oxidation, so subtle, you barely know it’s there. A perfect palate. A complex bitterness coats your entire tongue in bath of flavor. Perfect leaning toward the sweet side. I don’t know how they got the carbonation level so perfect. Wow. I want to sip it all day, and chug it at the same time. One heavenly beer. Woohoo!

Lightly hazed copper to light umber color. Moderate light beige head. Heavy grapefruit, pine and malt in the aroma. Strong, but rather simplistic scents. Lightly oily feel which is thinned out by the alcohol. A full feel barleywine. Light caramel sweetness come together with a full floral arrangement. Stewed fruit in the middle. Light alcohol comes in in the finish. It has been awhile since I have had a barleywine like this. Light oak, peaches and apricots abound. A brew that begs to be sipped and enjoyed. No way this one could be guzzled down. I seem to be repeating myself with this one. A sweet balance barleywine. I long for a light cigar to accompany this one. I owe someone a big thanks for this one.

botlle (batch 64).....aroma: fruity with some added sweetness coming from the malt but this one is dominated from the oak which adds a nice sour and tart feel it.....appearance: medium to light brown with thin slightly off white head....taste: sweet and tart and a nice balance between the two at that. i get some sour apple and hints of coconut and vanilla. i really didn’t expect this one to be this good. i would gladly drink this again and again. in moderation of course

sampled one from the most recent batch and wasn’t impressed with it. little to no wood and coconut notes. excessively boozed up and hot..

Big thanks to cbkschubert for this one. Pours murky copper, medium white head that stays and leaves lacing. Aroma is sour with oak and roasted malts. Flavor is a blast of oak sourness, tobbacco and oak. The smokiness really lingers along with the oak aged sourness, pretty funky yeast tasting. Caramel is very evident along with some light fruits like apples and pears, a touch of vanilla and brown sugar. Alcohol definitely plays a roll also. But mostly it’s the smoke and sour oak flavor the whole time.

Dark hazy orange, thick creamy off white head (great lacing). Fantastically complex aromas here of vanilla oak, mandarin orange, and juicy pineapple that sit on soft notes of cognac soaked fruitcake, and hints of smoked peachy brown sugar. Expertly balanced fruity hop flavor ride a slow wave that wash over boozy vanilla and wood tones. Full bodied, medium carbonation, bittersweet finish. This is truly what HoTD is about. Fantastic brew. Thanks for supplying the bottle at RBSG Boboski. You are too kind...
