Bottles from tom and dookie at the carolina tasting. pours a dark orange with a sunlight tinted yellowish head, at least thats how I remember it. Oak, earth, pepper, citrus, vanilla, alcohol. Accented by a nice clean hoppy sensation on the tongue. Very enjoyable. Thanks boys!

Crystal clear copper colored body with a medium sized yellowish head; Medium sized nose, balanced with pleasant aromas: a little oak, grapefruity hop, smooth spicy honey; Big pleasant carbonation on a soft textured body that could be deeper; Long finish with a balanced growing bitterness, a little sweet as well, with very settled and balanced aromas. Great beer - Thanks Walt!

Pours a really dirty and murky orange color with a lumpy cream head and yeast floaties: you wouldn’t be able to get my dad’s lips near this, he would think it came from the last plumbing accident. Lots of grape, oak, and sourness in the smell. Sour flavor but not overpoweringly so. You can definitely taste oak along with dark fruit sweetness. Alcohol flavor is there in the aftertaste but more as a warming sensation. Excellent beer, experiment gone right.

Bottle. Aroma very much of vanilla. Cloudy orange colour, small head. The flavour is nice, there is some vanilla, fruit, wood and cigar box. A bit of sourness, but that balances the sweetness. Good mouthfeel, probably due to the alcohol content.

Courtesy dickinsonbeer. Amber with a small, frothy, off white head. Dry peppery cedar, herbal spiciness, sweet malt, bitter earthy hops in the background, subtle alcohol. Medium/full body, balanced. Great brew.

(Bottle 35,5 cl) Slightly hazy amber golden with a dense, creamy, yellowish head leaving a pretty lacework. Sweet - somewhat medicinal - oak aroma. Very full-bodied, sweetish malty - caramel - and then a distinct, hoppy finish. Lovely. Courtesy of Storm. 120207

Much thanks to egajdzis for bringing over this beauty...I missed out on the buy. Batch # 64 Appears a semi-transparent copper with a 1 finger off-white, fluffy head. Scattered streaks are left around the glass. Smell is of caramel, oak, slight funk w/ butterscotch, tobacco, herbs, maple, cherries, dark fruit pectins. Taste is of the mentioned aromas highlighted with the caramel, vanilla oak, tobacco, maple, raw sugar, and fruit. Mouthfeel is medium bodied, sweet, lightly bitter, along with a mild booziness. Pretty nice.

Bottled (Tasted side by side with the regular Fred). Golden coloured. Unclear. Dense light brown head. Sweetness, caramel and light alcohol in the aroma. This is totally dominated by the vanillanotes of the barrel, which continues into the flavour. Loads, loads, loads of vanilla sweetness. Fruits and alchol notable. Is medium bodied. Sweetness, alcohol, spice and light grapish notes in the end. I find it as good as the normal Fred, but it a total different ballgame with all the vanillasweetness. Thanks to Storm for sharing this and to Sliffy for sending me one in a trade.
