12 oz Bottle ,thanks to kosko20 . A nice muddy golden orange color body, with a huge foamy off white head that lasts for ever, medium carbonation, tuns of lacing and sheeting. Aroma if lots of oak , sweet malt, tobacco ,and apple skins . Favor is out of this world Huge caamel malt , sweet cherry, vanilla, honey ,nuts and hint of alcohol , sticky mouthfeel but the carbonation seems to clean the palate between sips, Full body , balenced , very complex and everchanging flavors and aromas . Probably the best beer I have had to date.

Bottle thanks to Cletus. Rating number 600. Shared this with my dad on father’s day. Pours a hazy brown with a large white head. Big caramel, malt, vanilla, and a touch of smoke and wood, with a touch of alcohol. Medium to thick body. Very deep dark fruit, plums and prunes, Finishes with a nice light bitterness and some dry wood notes. Pretty well balanced. I’m still not a huge barley wine fan, but this one is pretty decent. Sadly, no one else liked it. Oh well, more for me.

Bottle at DLD ’09, thanks to Drewbeerme. Slightly hazy amber with medium beige head. ARoma is ver bourbon forward with caramel, sweetness, some age and vanilla. Flavor is vanilla, cherry, big bursting fruit, real tasty, grapey, yeast, age, real nice. Mesium body with slight carbonation. Real tasty, solid, could drink a lot of it.

330ml bottle (Olutkellari, Helsinki) - shared with a couple of olutopas dudes - thanks!
Hazy copper, not poured clear alas, and a healthy head. RIch buttery toffee aroma. Diacetyl by the tonne. Fortunately diacetyl doesn’t turn me off a beer. Smooth body; in fact it’s not smooth, it’s slimy. That could be the yeast. Vanilla and buttery malt loaf in the mouth - did I mention diacetyl? Huge hoppy bite, but within acceptable limits. Pretty OK, but the slimy palate it too much. Sticks my lips together with sugars. The sugars don’t cover the alcohol either - this smelt and tasted as if it was well over 10%. Great if you like diacetyl, sugar and booze.

Father’s Day present come early. Couldn’t wait more than one day to open this. First taste is of caramel and cherry. Let me stop and look at this beer. Not very dark. Second taste is some kind of chocolate mixed with cherry. Maybe some maple syrup. Vanilla. There is oak in the flavor - like what one would say about a wine. Wow. Much different than what I was expecting...thought it would be dark and intense, but it is full of fruit and maple. Something else is in there that I cannot put my finger on. Very lovely beer.

Bottle. Pours a brownish gold with a massive head. Aromas are vaguely bready with a little tanginess to it. Flavor is a fruit bowl with pears, white grape juice and some oak. Flavor is very sweet and fruity as predicted by the nose.

Bottle shared by MrBunn. Orangey red pour, big fluffy head. Aroma is all bread with a touch of maple or oak. Not sure of this bottle. Boozy caramel flavors....wood notes are present. Lots of fruit floats in and out of the flavor. Very different, and not quite what I expected. Alcohol is a little dominating in the finish, but its still fairly smooth and all right.
