| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jan 15, 2008 From bottle, batch #70, Thanks to TopherDrinks : Pours a hazy dark amber color, with a big ole’ frothy head, about two fingers tall and white. The head has big time staying power as well. Nose is mainly hops, with some citrus i.e. grapefuit notes. The taste starts out with some hoppy flavors, then turns sweet and malty, finish with more sweetness and some alcohol notes, but not a massive unbearable amount of alcohol. Palate is medium with a sticky feel to it. Im usually not a huge fan of the Barley Wines, but this one is pretty enjoyable. BOLTZ7555 (1099), Phoenix, Arizona, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jan 8, 2008 Had this one at the Taproom in Seattle...beautiful beer with large fluffy white head and fiery orange color. The aroma permeated the room...grapefruit, douglas fur, and wildflowers. The alcohol, although well masked by the beautifully pungent hops, made both your mouth water and mouth pucker. The finish was rather sweet...malt to round it out. Amazing beer...would love a second sample!!! fredandboboflo (1417), East Setauket, New York, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jan 4, 2008 Bottle, batch number 69. Pours a lot like a tripel, deep golden color, nice fluffy head. Aroma very much like an appley white wine. Flavor a huge contrast to the aroma, and the most complex hop character I think I’ve ever had. Citrus notes, floral notes, piney notes, all seemingly coming from the hops and blending beautifully. Mouthfeel also dominated by sharp hops and pleasant carbonation. Excellent beer. tomthompson89 (1489), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 18/20 | Dec 28, 2007 Pours a nice ruddy brown with big fluffy head. The aroma fills the room. No joke- I’m 4 feet away and it seems like it’s right under my nose! Sweet malt, pineapple, sugars. Flavor is similar, with a touch of a bite, but is a little less powerfull than the nose. A great beer, overall. franksnbeans (265), Columbus, Maryland, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Dec 24, 2007 Pours a slightly hazy red/orange with a huge creamy head that is insanely resiliant. I could eat the head with a spoon. Smells of many different fruits, some spice, caramel and yeast. This is a huge beer. Many different flavors going on. Big fruit, dried and juicy, alcohol, big malt, rye. Finishes with some spice. Feels very full and creamy in the mouth. The ABV is apparant but not in a bad way. Warms you up nicely. This is a sipper through and through and absolutely incredible. Very complex and original and as it warms up more and more shows. This is a must try for any BA.

| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Dec 17, 2007 I actually tasted Fred a few times now but never rated it. Since I got a bottle from wetherel I decided to now do it. Pours cloudy golden/copper a really nice head that stay all along the tasting. Perhaps the high carbonation helps! Aroma of fruits, malts and hops (citrus and pine). I would never be fade up to smell this beer. Again, flavors are a great mix of malts (can recognized the rye in there), fruits and perceives some honey as well. Bitterness is right on! This is an awesome beer! Thanks John!
