beersearcher (197), Glendale, California, USA Jul 22, 2009 This is a big, wine style beer that is still very drinkable. Had with pizza at Tastebuds in Portland. Not a super fan of Hair of the Dog but this is my favorite to date of their stuff. JoeTheYounger (216), California, USA Jun 30, 2009 Had on tap at the brewery from Alan. Poured a clear amber color with a nice head. Very smooth mild aroma, mild spices. Very unique. I thought this was very cool. snakeoilpete (324), Seattle, Washington, USA May 31, 2009 Updated: Jun 4, 2009On tap at the brewery. Pours clear amber with a nice frothy off-white head. Smells floral and fruity. Malty, spicy pumpkin/squash taste with a little fruitiness. Smooth and crisp. Ibrew2or3 (2714), Safety Harbor, Florida, USA May 31, 2009 Growler courtesy of fishingnet. It pours coppery gold with tiny white head. The aroma is modest in strength with spices, sweetness and smooth chewy squash like veggies. The taste is sweet up front with maltiness then moving into sugary-ness and squash goodness. The malts grow a bit into the finish. Nice stuff. It seems a tad on the sweet side overall. TampaBrew (715), Tampa, Florida, USA May 25, 2009 growler courtesy of fishingnet. Pours a copper color. Aroma of mild pumpkin. Flavor is a mild spice, veggies, and squash with some sweet malt notes. Very very drinkable. Glad i was able to try this one. markwise (1132), 15 Minutes from Kuhnhenn in, Florida, USA May 25, 2009 Thanks fishingnet for the share. Pours a hazy brown-yellow with an off-white head. Nose is some vegetable and squash, but mostly mildness and gourds. FLavor is very similar. This is a great warm-up beer since it is so mild, yet it is still enjoyable. Medium-bodied and enjoyable, but it is so incredibly mild. gunhaver (1024), Tampa, Florida, USA May 24, 2009 Growler, courtesy fishingnet. Copper kettle color, minimum lacing and no head. Spicy vegetable notes, some citrus and pineapple, big pumpkin/squash and some grapes. Full of sweet grain and vegetal notes, nice full profile of caramel and brown sugar. Medium-bodied, crisp and quite drinkable. Unique and glad I got to try it. bvc (227), Kenmore, Washington, USA May 23, 2009 Draft at HotD during earth day sale. Poured a hazy orangish/tan/golden color with tight slightly off white head that leaves some lacing on the way down. Nose is malty sweet with hints or cooked squash and some spice. Body is smooth and somewhat creamy on the feel. Nicely balanced malty earthy flavor with hints of sweetness and spice. Interesting well made brew and a bit of a departure from the rest of Alan’s beers.
