I really enjoyed this one. Thank you SamuraiArtist for the hand bottle. Aroma of some spices and roasted vegetables but very mild. A slight bitterness to balance to sweet roast aroma. Taste was also a bit sweet, maybe caramel or brown sugar with some bitter raw vegetable. Definitely a bit foody from the squash which does stand out which I was hoping for and contributed to the nice body. Glad I got this oddball, very nice.

Cloudy amber color with no head. Aroma of citrus, spice and squash. Taste is heavy on the squash as advertised. A bit too vegetabley.

Madness@the Moose YEHA. 1 Liter handbottle provided by yobdoog, I think it was filled at Higgins restaurant. I was excited to try this. Aroma is not surprisingly weird with light sweetness and definitely vegetable but not in a bad way. Taste is actually pretty plain, tastes like a pale ale with a bit more crystal malt sweetness. It very easy drinking and definitely a fine beer without using any hops. Extra points for creativity and being able to pull this off.

Poured a medium orange color with a very small sized heat. Aromas of yeast, earthy, citrus, spices, and squash. Tastes of spices, squash, and caramel. There was definitely squash in there that made this one different and interesting.

Poured a hazy yellow orange color with a small, white head that left light lacing on the glass. Aroma of vanilla, orange, squash, bread, and toffee. Taste was dry, bready, light spices, and a mild, toffee finish. Pretty interesting / nice.

Hand bottle from Samurai Artist. Thanks Ezra! Pours a nice hazy amber color with a medium off white head. Aroma of herbs, spices, malt and bread. Taste was different from any other beer I have had, but in a pleasant way. The flavor is well balanced, smooth and very easy to drink. Has a sweet dry finish.

Thanks WeeHeavySD for the taste at the 2007 PP SAF:

Amber hued with a splash of bubbles and no lace. The aroma has notes of veggies (the squash I guess) grass, herbs, caramel, and doughy yeast esters. The taste was sweet but not has I feared with some lactic acid and bitterness in balance. For something with no hops, where did the bitterness come from? Chewy and sticky mouth feel. Very different and warmed up to me.
