carruthm (1107), Seattle, Washington, USA Dec 6, 2008 V - glowey red with white medium head. A - caramel spices. T - dark spices after taste of slightly candied fruit and apple. P - carby, light and fluffy. Good but I am left without a signature quantity. mreeves (257), Sammamish, Washington, USA Dec 5, 2008 Just had this on tap at the Big Wood Festival at Brouwers Cafe. Quite an interesting brew. Lots of flavors here with the oaky flavors being fairly prominent in my view. Dark, frothy brew with plenty of interesting flavors. In my opinion, a little strong on the oak, but otherwise quite tasty. anders37 (4516), Malmö, Sweden Nov 28, 2008 Draft @ HOTD. Pours a slightly hazy brown color with a small tán head. Has a fruity malty slightly earthy hoppy aroma with some oak hints. Dry malty hoppy flavor with some hints of oak. Long dry malty finish with more of the earthy hops and oak in the aftertaste. NoiZe (1288), Mooi Zeist, Netherlands Aug 14, 2008 Tasted @ Hair of the Dog Brewing Company in Portland.

Alan was nice enough to give Kevin, Kevin’s Girlfriend Jessi a private tour and tasting on New Year’s Eve 07. Draft @ The brewery. This was labeled as the 2007 vintage of Jim. Poured cloudy borwn with a 2 finger creamy tan head. Nose was killer and complex. Taste was a big huge wow for me, very very complex and over the top, with notes of smoke and all kinds of other stuff. This was Killer! SuzyGreenberg (1318), Seattle, Washington, USA Jan 4, 2008 mountain dew keg (tasting hosted by after4ever) - big thanks to preston for bringing this up and giving us a sample; after the over-carb cleaning up, the white head disappeared quickly leaving a clear amber; alcohol and woody aromas; lots of texture and creamy finish Dubbercody (214), Vancouver, Washington, USA Dec 2, 2007 Holiday Ale Festival 2007- Incredible multi-layered nose on this brew. Dark reddish maroon color. Warms your mouth, fantastic brew. I’m glad I tried this brew early in my day. Angeloregon (2024), Portland, Oregon, USA Dec 1, 2007 At Holiday Ale Festival in Portland 2007--Most anticipated beer by many connoisseurs. Dull bronzed amber hue with an off-white head. Ethyl alcoholic nose with woody astringency. Sandy, gritty hops presence. Blended with Pilsener. Wild complex flavor that out did Jim One. Interesting and best enjoyed in small dosages.
