Bottle. [thank you, after4ever]
... at present, this is my 32th beer from the Ratebeer top 50...
Pours deep dark, muddy brown with a thin, creamy, yellowish rim of film. Aroma has a hell of a lot of character. Green apples, rubber, dark chocolate, plums, raisins, light tobacco. Low carbonation, fat and oily mouthfeel. Flavour is impressively complex. Rubber, dark chocolate, plums, raisins, oak, apples, roasted malts. A touch of smoke and thyme. Impressive viniousness. Long, lingering, warming aftertaste. Impressive.

Bottle. Pours brown with no head. Aroma of bourbon, oak, and rich malt. Flavor of sweet apple, bourbon, and roasted malt. I don’t get chocolate or smoke. Decent, but not great to me. Palate is a little light despite the bourbon. 7/4/8/4/15 (3.8/5)

Pours dark brown with a thin off white head. Smells of chocolate, oak, vanilla, earth, pepper, molasses, some light fruitiness, subtle booziness. Tastes of chocolate, peppery, some citrus, a touch of bitterness, dry, oaky, bourbony, sweet. Mouthfeel is velvety. Excellent!

Thanks to GAManiac for the bottle. Dark brown murky pour with very little carbonation, the combination of smoke & bourbon hits you in the nose. Thick on the palate, I got some notes of cherry, dark chocolate and smokiness. There’s a lot going on with this beer, but for me, it doesn’t work well together. It’s an ok beer. further, I can’t see aging this beer much longer, due to the lack of carbonation.

Bottle brought by Simon to the 6/27/09 D-METAL Tasting with Jared and Katie at the Del Mar pad. Thanks for hooking this rarity up Simon! One of three current Ratebeer Top 50 Beers sampled in one evening! Pours deep mahogany with a translucent center and clear edges, with a fine beige head developing with swirls. Lovely aroma of green apple, leather and light tobacco. Some smoke and molasses comes through as well, hanging above the subtle bourbon, chocolate and oak wood character as the base. Candy sugar shows itself in the flavor, along with more smoke, dark chocolates, sweet apple and cherry. Everything follows with a light bitterness and a touch of oak barrel and tobacco. Full-bodied, velvety texture to the palate. A great beer overall.

Big thanks to GodofThunder for sharing. Deep chestnut color, thin broken off-white head. Alcohol, dark fruits, a malic sourness and acidity on the nose. Thick mouthfeel. Sour dark fruits to start, some roast behind the tartness and alcohol, some raisin also. Very nice.
