Commercial Description:
This special release was brewed on July 12th and bottled on September 8th, 2005. I used locally grown black currants to give this beer an intense berry flavor. Made with love, reverance and respect for the great beers of Belgium.

(12oz bottle, thanks kmweaver) Murky purple/amber body with small off-white head. Aroma is moderately sweet, caramel, currant. Taste is moderately sweet, strong currant, some cream, light alcohol. Medium body, some creaminess.

2005. Sludgy pour, fairly still, of a sickly tanned pink flesh tone. The rosy cheeks of a tanning-booth girl. Currants are still powerful on the nose. Wet wood and a hint of vinegar betray the age. Some cream and baked brown sugar on the back end. Tastes mild in general to start, a bit like beets. Suggestions of tomato, spice and raspberry in a hot cherry cough syrup body. Finishes dry and tannic – massive like a bold Zinfandel. Waxy and hot in the mouth, retaining a bit of framboise-like sparkle. It’s hard to say if age has benefited this any, though it’s evolved into something that’s interesting, at the least. Thanks for sharing, Ken!

Light brown/pink muddy color. WIne like aromas, dried fruit, sweet berry aromas. Good balance of sweet and sour especially in the finish.

Bottle from trade with SamuraiArtist. Thanks Ezra! Pours a muddy pinkish red color with a light pink head. Aroma of cherries, apples, fermented fruit and spices. Taste is strong currents, smoky with hints of orange, apples and yeast. Has a very unique flavor of dried fruit and alcohol. Smooth and easy to drink with a bit of a sweet finish.

12-oz. Thanks, Pitonka! Pours surging, opaque mauve with a thinnish, fizzy lavender head. Looks grainy and murky at all times. Smells massively dusty, almost a hot summer dirt road sense. Light tones of cherryish/black currant too. Soft medium body with light pleasant carb and very fruit-forward flavors. Nice stuff. Mid-palate is more modest bodied currant flavor business. Slight sticky sugary finish.

Bottle courtesy of larry pitonka. Pours a red and cloudy beer with a thin tan head. Smells of currants, lots of sourness and buttery. Taste is very sour with a nice compliment of black currants. Great take on a fruit beer!

12oz bottle via bonus with robertsreality. Damn Rob thanks again. I’ve been wanting try this for a while now. Pours reddish strawberry brown, like a smoothie made with old fruite. Head is 1 finger wide and a reddish white. The nose is light and slighty fruity. The taste has a big alcholic punch and is very vinious and sharp. Not the best taste or feeling from a fruit beer but its not horrid either. I would have hoped perhaps after almost 2 years that this may have mellowed some.

12oz bottle pours out a cloudy amber topped with a small off white head. A little fruit and wood on this one.
