| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Dec 25, 2006 bottle. batch 40. slighty hazy rose pour with no head. yeast, baked bread and fruity aroma. lively carbonation. crisp. grain and wheat trumps fruit. honey is the taste that I couldn’t put my finger on. tart finish. different and good. shintriad (698), Toronto, Ontario, Canada
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 23, 2006 Damned if this doesn’t smell like very sharp borscht. Citrusy, but in a weird way. Lots of floral and some musty elements. Sweet and sour, not entirely pleasant all the way through, but very interesting. Really gets into your nose and settles into your brain. Kind of a painful experience. Dedollewaitor (3773), Odense, Denmark
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Dec 21, 2006 Batch 41. Hazy orange/golden with a red hew. Little creamy white head. Aroma of spices, actually pepper, Flowers/Citrus and sweet malts. Some alcohol as well. Filling body. Soft & smooth texture. Lacings on the side of the glass. Fine lasting bitterness in the end. A little different from your ordinary abbey tripel, but defenetly great & exciting! Ps. Thanks

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Dec 20, 2006 12oz bottle, Batch 14 (!!), courtesy of gears81. Thanks, Jake! I’m not quite sure how old this is, but given the ages listed on the HOTD website for other beers, it seems like it’s from the late 90s; it’s labeled as "Golden Rose". Definitely oxidized at this point, to some benefit. Pours a minimal head (not a benefit), with a murky brownish appearance and an off-white line of bubbles at the edges of the glass. Quite a lot of caramel (a benefit) and maple syrup in the nose, with hints of honey and minimal hops. Lots of burnt caramel in the palate: medium mouthfeel, with chocolate and a light tripel profile underneath; alcohol is well-integrated (as usual for HOTD), with some honey and floral character. Slightly dry finish, showing maple syrup maltiness and yeast. To be honest, this barely resembles a tripel (which I don’t imagine to be a consequence of aging). GG (1678), NorCal, California, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Dec 18, 2006 Bottle poured out a hazy orange/deep gold color with an aroma of fruity esthers, yeast, herbal notes and pepper. Mouthfeel is biting and well rounded. Flavors were grass, alcohol and citrus. This was nice, considering that Triple’s aren’t my favorite style. Theis (3792), Denmark

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Dec 15, 2006 Bottle. Pours orange to brown. Not quite what I would expect from a Belgian triple. There was some spice dominating the flavor that I could not quite identify, maybe it was honey. The typical belgina yeast flavors were overpwoered by that. Nomethless this was an interesting beer, with notes of strawberry as well. It has a full body which is nice. Skinnyviking (4189), Copenhagen, Denmark
