Commercial Description:
Rose is named for Portland, Oregon, the Rose City. Originally called Golden Rose, this Beer started life as a straight forward Belgian Tripel and evolved into a Beer made with beets, hibiscus flowers and pink peppercorns. She has always been inspired by the Belgian style known as Tripel, which has a low level hops and is deceivingly light in body for its alcohol strength. This is achieved through the use of imported Belgian candi sugar. Not Brewed since 2005.

( This label says Golden Rose) 35,5 cl bottle. Yeast at the bottom. Cloudy amber colour with a very little head. Sour and malty aroma with hints of spices and fruit. Little sour flavour with notes of caramel, yeast and sweet. This one is far away from a European tripel. Bu not bad at all, just deferent.

Hmm interesting color. Kind of a rosey brown. Loads of carbonation. Keeps a thick white head of fine dense bubbles on the surface for the duration. Frutiy aroma with some cranberries (tart), green apple and some light spices. Some floral notes also. Woah. Very strange and weird flavor. Dusty ash, flowers, dry grass. Kind of chalky in the mouth. Noticable alcohol presence. Unlike any brew I have ever had. More tartness. Initial BIG herbal flavor then mellows out. Finish is very warming from the alcohol. This is one weird brew.

Cloudy light copper with small head. Aroma of faint banana and a little floral. First thing I notice is the finish....really comes on strong. Pretty sweet with a nice spiciness to it. Very interesting, but not great. Worth trying.

12 oz bottle via Liquid Solutions. Pours a hazy dark amber color with an ’average size but quickly dissipating’ head. Very nice floral/herbal aroma with some vanilla, pepper and cinammon notes. And that is pretty much how it tastes with perhaps some peach in there as well. A bit of TART CHERRY, AND pepper AND smokiness in the finish. A bit thin bodied but easy to drink. Refeshing drink for a mild autumn day or at an Oktoberfest.

(Bottle) Sampled at the post-GCBF party hosted by Oakes, "Big Beer Sampling". Batch #41. Mild melons, watered bourbon, pine sap and tea at high noon. Strong elixir, fizzy, lime and sour cherries. Very good. With a nicely balanced finish.

Good flavour, really strange but enjoyable. Strong taste and something sweet on it. Good combination.
