Commercial Description:
Rose is named for Portland, Oregon, the Rose City. Originally called Golden Rose, this Beer started life as a straight forward Belgian Tripel and evolved into a Beer made with beets, hibiscus flowers and pink peppercorns. She has always been inspired by the Belgian style known as Tripel, which has a low level hops and is deceivingly light in body for its alcohol strength. This is achieved through the use of imported Belgian candi sugar. Not Brewed since 2005.

Clear golden-orange in colour with a long lasting and large white head, excellent lacing. The aroma is of yeast, apples, orange citrus and some light spice. The flavour is peppery, very smooth, yeasty, some must, candy sweetness, light alcohol, light spice. Lightly bitter mouthfeel, medium body, high carbonation. Finishes long with lots of warmth and spices.

Fantastic stuff, I’m really glad that I waited to open this bottle. It has aged perfectly.

355ml bottle obtained in a trade with 5000, thanks Andre.
Opened on June 30, 2008.
Batch #38.

Bottle shared by shigadeyo. Poured clear brown color with an averaqge frothy white head that lasted with good lacing. Complex spicy fruit and yeasty aroma. Medium body with a sticky texture and flat carbonation. Medium to heavy fruity sweet flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate to long duration with a small alcohol bite. This is a good sweet beer.

12oz bottle. $3.75 Village Wine & Beer. Light orange color with some cloudiness. Very little head but continued fizz from the bottom of the glass. Aroma of flowers. Taste of honey. This one is very unique though not really one that I’m into.

Cloudy goldenrod color with a nice white head. Lots of esters and phenols on the nose; dehydrated stone fruits, clove, some berries, nuts? Also a big floralness. Taste is yeasty with mealy fruits and peppery alcohol. Dry, astringent, and hot. Weird beer, sort of heavy, not very drinkable.

Aroma of flowers and yeast. The beer is amber and not yellow like the normal tripples. The flavor is also dominated by flowers, which was quiet unique for me.

Dark orange/brown. Both aroma and taste is dominated by flowers. It tastes like some kind of wine aged in a flower bath. This beer is unique but lacks at the same time of real depth. One of the strangest beers i’ve ever had. This was not for me...

Dark brown-red colored with hazy appearance. Rose flowerness dominates the aroma with bitter palate, beat comes up with sour vegetably note. Some berries and sweet caramel come up too, some raspberry with hints of glue also present, but maybe one can say that it fits here. Medium bodied. Flavor is more normal, with still sourness dominating. Same rose-flowerness with some sweet caramel also. Well, rather one of a kind brew, I like it ok.
