This was a great beer also. Alan kicks butt he is awesome. I get a flavor of flower in the nose and the taste this was a good old time type beer. JK (2966), Richfield, Minnesota, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 5/5 | 15/20 | Nov 13, 2005 Complex aroma. Flowers and spices, some coriander, very light wheat, and far more hops than I have ever smelled in a tripel. Look great. A bright but very hazy orange. Large, thin white head that leaves a very thick lace on the glass. Full bodied. Unusual flavor for the style as well. Considerable hops with light floral and herbal qualities. Lightly spiced, with the smallest hint of red pepper. Finishes sweet as a tripel should. tennisjoel (951), Shakopee, Minnesota, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Nov 11, 2005 This is one attractive looking beer when poured. Lots of carbonation bubbles. Sediment on the bottom. Long lasting foamy head. Candy aroma. I detect fruity with some spice, some vanilla. Taste is very good. Cinnamon spices. Very good beer for this time of year. Not a beer I could drink a lot of, but definitely good in smaller quantities. IMtheOptimator (1161), Bethel, Connecticut, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Nov 1, 2005 Poured golden and voluptuously effervescent with a creamy white head. Lots of yeast floaties. Aroma of cherries, caramel, grapes, grapefruit and flowers. Taste is dry grapes, with a touch of sweetness. Very floral. Fizzy body. Perhaps a little too dry and bitter in the finish, but very enjoyable. RAYBOY01 (1867), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 21, 2005 Much lighter in body and livlier in carbonation than I would expect in a tripel. Alternatingly sweet and floral. Some dried fruitiness as well with just a bit of hop bitterness in the finish. sayravai (3772), Helsinki, Finland
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Oct 2, 2005 (Bottled@Oliver Twist) Opaque, darkish orange color with a small head. Slightly sweet, rose-flowery, very orangey aroma. Pleasantly bitter, flowery-hoppy flavor with lots of orange-peel and peppery spiciness with a dry finish. Medium-bodied with medium carbonation. A quite nice, different tripel. Maybe not the most balanced one. wnhay (722), Princeton, New Jersey, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Sep 24, 2005 Poured golden orange with a thick white head. Great head retention but I could have used a bit more carbonation. Aroma had orange, vanilla, peanut butter, citrus and candy apple. Taste had the same thing and had a strong alcohol sensation. Palate was very smooth overall I was expecting more bitterness. Good tripel. jcr (1188), Jasper, Indiana, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Sep 16, 2005 Batch #39. Cloudy, orange pour with huge large-bubbled head. Citrus, spice, floral, earthjy aroma. Hair of the Dog’s reputation for complexity is not damaged by this brew. The flavor was of orange, vanilla, spice, plum, raisin with a sweet, but musty aftertase. Smooth from beginning to end. Moderate carbonation. Very enjoyable.
