Smells like a true trippel. Hazy orange color with a nice frothy white head. From my first appearance of this, it would be difficult for me to say that this wasnt straight from Belgium. Start is somewhat astringent and dry. Malty yeasts in there with nice hints of sweetness and spices. Significant alcohol burn in the middle finishing decently hoppy. I think they did a damn good job of making a good Belgian Trip. jstu9 (402), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA

The last thing I did when I tasted it was thinking about the name of it, rose... and that first taste... just has cemented that thought in my head. I’m not even quite sure what the taste was. But it was quite imposing which was good. Definitely not a sitting around the house kind of beer, and I don’t think I quite appreciated it as much as I should have. But as most HOTD beers are, this was interesting. ante (2941), Stockholm, Sweden

| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Sep 19, 2004 Pours turbid gold with a big, creamy, white head. Aroma of hopcit, malt, yeast, slight earthiness, bread, and candi sugar. Very complex, impressive aroma. Tastes citrusy, hoppy, with a lot of candi sugar at the finish. Above average complexity. A very well made beer, as are all HOTG beers. I thought the alcohol was well hidden, indicating to me that this one will be rated higher among the Beer Gods. Hab40oz (242), Grants Pass, Oregon, USA
