Poured a nice orange-gold color with a huge off white head that seems super charged with carbonation. Has a great spicy Belgian like aroma except with notes of fruit, cinnamon and lots of maple. Mouthfeel is very effervescent and lively. Flavor is a fruity malty one with a bit of maple and spices. Alcohol also slightly noticable in the finish. Overall a really good Tripel. Thanks Sham! | 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Dec 22, 2003 Dark amber with generous off-white head that diminishes, but leaves stuck laces on the sides of the glass. Light yeast and honey aroma with the most pronounced mango I've smelled in a beer. very fruity sweet nose. Malty tripel with an almost caramelic taste and herbal honey. Bitterness is light and could be a tad more pronounced considering the sweetness we're dealing with. Creamy medium body. That's the beer that made me realise that every HOTD beer is hella sweet, but damn they're all good and one of a kind. Another kindness from Cincinnati's one and only Hopsrus. | 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Dec 11, 2003 Batch 35. Now known simply by "Rose." Pours burnt orange, with abundant dark yeast sediment. Well-carbonated, leaving a creamy off-white head that quickly dissipated. Aroma is biscuity and caramely, definitely yeasty. Reminds me of Bell's Sparkling Ale- flavor is very spicy and earthy, with toned-down candi sugar notes. Spicy, biscuity, and dry. This is a solid Tripel, although this style can be confusing. Tripels seem to range from strongly sweet to spicy and earthy. This example fits in the latter category. jgb9348 (2515), Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia, USA

Slightly hazy copper colour with a nice lacy off-white head. Aroma of figs, peaches, pears and yeast. Heavy-bodied; Highly alcoholic; Sweet flavours roaming all with strong malt and yeastiness. Aftertaste fairly sweet-but the alcohol leaves a burn. Overall, picture a belgian tripel and this one is 90% it. A good beer-and very true to the style. I bought this twelve ounce beer from Whole Foods in Vienna, Virginia and sampled it on 22-November-2003.
