| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Dec 2, 2003 Batch #35. Pours an orange color with some floaty stuff in it and has a moderate head that leaves a little lacing on the glass. The aroma had caramel, yeast, and a bit of hops in it. The alcohol was apparent in the taste, but it blended well. The flavor has a lot of hops - starts out sweet with some spices and finishes more dry with the alcohol bringing itself forward. This is a good beer, but there are several other Tripels that I would prefer over this one.

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Nov 24, 2003 Clear amber with a large white frothy head. Lacing is excellent. Aroma is sweet and sugary with a good dose of yeast aromas. The flavor is strong sweetness and some acidic bitterness. Body is medium and the finish is very dry and woody. The alcohol comes out in the end. Overall not my favorite tripel. HH (165), Everett, Washington, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 5/5 | 12/20 | Nov 11, 2003 Hard to really rate this.. Only had a very small sample, but I don't think I could do a whole pint. This was fruity, thick on the palate, sweetish, and with quite an alcohol kick. I'll stick to Ruination... | 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Nov 11, 2003 A nice light golden amber color with a huge white creamy head. The lacing stayed behind all the way until the end. This is how a tripel should look. The aroma is lightly yeasty with a spicy citrus note and a brown sugar end with a light touch of well chosen hops. Flavor has a large alcohol sting for the ABV, not well hidden at all. Finishes slightly acidic with more alcohol burn. This had the first couple aspects down but is a little too difficult to drink to give it any higher of a score. Another aspect I want to point out is that this is a heavily bottle conditioned beer, with the yeast poured in, there were some huge chunks that really detered from appearance and added a light roasted/medicinal flavor in the end. cquiroga (370), Sylmar, California, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Nov 6, 2003 Poured out of 12 oz. bottle, bought at Stuffed Sandwich in San Gabriel, CA 9/12/03. Batch #14. Bright amber orange in color. Almost no head and little lacing on the vigorous pour. Silky smooth look to it as it pours. Slight fruitiness, stronger sweetness and maltiness on the aroma. Very enticing and glowing Smells a little bit like Orange Triaminic cough syrup, and alcohol, only better. Toned-down Grand Marnier. Flavor is startlingly mild. Caramel, mellow chocolate malts, muted burn of alcohol. Finish lets things open up a bit-- bitterness comes forward, carbonation and alcohol sizzle and fizzle shows itself, and malted barley mellows out and cools the palate for a long, syrupy rest. Full body, very smooth drinking, but unfortunately there's just not much going on in this beer except for the great aroma and lovely texture. I hate to do this, but I gotta give this beer a low rating. Nexxus (261), Apple Valley, Minnesota, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Nov 3, 2003 Batch 34. Pours a cloudy amber with a huge off-white head which quickly dissapears. Sweet caramel malty aroma. Flavor is much the same, very sweet, fruity - I taste a bit of melon - with a hint of alcohol. The downside is that the flavor stays a little too sweet all the way through to the finish. BBB63 (4267), La Porte, Indiana, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Nov 3, 2003 Batch 37: Golden hue with a good frothy off-white head and some lace. Aroma hinted of grain, cereal, roasted malt, floral hops, pine, grapefruit, apricot, leather, allspice and moderate alcohol. Big malty and sweet initial taste, buttery, nutty, and creamy. Some honey detected. Light bitter bite on finish but still sweet and fruity, slighty unbalanced. Medium-bodied with a creamy and soft mouthfeel, very chalky on the finish. This didn't satisfy me much, seems use of candy sugar caused this brew to become coy midway through glass. ToadMan (554), Washington, Washington DC, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Oct 27, 2003 Orangy-copper colr, small head, nice frothy lacing, lots of sediment. Aroma is hoppy and floral with a hint of orange. Starts fruity, orange and cherry, turns hoppier and lightly biter and finishes with a sweeter maltieness. Creamy moutfheel, well balanced. Has an overall sour-metalic presence that really detracts from what could be a good beer.
