Commercial Description:
Rose is named for Portland, Oregon, the Rose City. Originally called Golden Rose, this Beer started life as a straight forward Belgian Tripel and evolved into a Beer made with beets, hibiscus flowers and pink peppercorns. She has always been inspired by the Belgian style known as Tripel, which has a low level hops and is deceivingly light in body for its alcohol strength. This is achieved through the use of imported Belgian candi sugar. Not Brewed since 2005.

Thick hazy off gold color with super exploding head. Flavor of candied ginger with touch of maple and finish of light clove. Very alive with carbination. Very nice ale.

I believe this is the same one, my bottle simply says Rose. The pour is incredible with lively aroma jumping right out of the bottle at you. Pours a deep golden amber with a huge head, that fades slightly into a nice puffy cloud. Very nice lively carbonation, and a really great feel in the mouth. The taste is like sweet candies and toffee. Not nearly as fruity as I expected.

Batch 37. Pours a nice brown with huge head and little lace. Light candied aromas with some malt. Nice. More candied malt in the flavor, slight honey, ends with a small alcohol bite. Not too shabby.

Bottle…Batch 33 A short-lived, light tan head resides over a clear amber body. The aroma has an interesting off note that closely resembles that smell you get upon opening a bottle of vitamins. Besides that, there’s some medicinal phenolics, faint fruit, pale malt, and musty yeast. The flavor is earthy and slightly musty, with some basic malt and phenolic notes. Not much like a tripel as claimed on the bottle. Tiny hint of a floral character. Some hay and honey too. Finishes with a fleeting hop bitterness. Medium in body, with a crisp dryness on the finish. Well-hidden alcohol. Overall, not an impressive brew, as it seems a bit stale, but should be able to hold up for quite awhile longer. It’s worth noting that my bottle says just ‘Rose’ and not ‘Golden Rose.’

Orange colour, verging on the pink. Head gone in seconds. Nutty nose, madeirisation, honey. Taste confirms the madeirisation and honey tones. I fail to find the typical candy sugar flavour - dryness excepted - and I fear this sample must have aged prematurely. Dry, but well-bodied. Slick mouthfeel. Typical taste of 4-5 year old B. triple. Checked, sample is not beyond BBd - so prematurely aged. I like this, but I understand that's not everybody's preference.

Bottled. Tastes like every other Belgian beer I’ve ever had. It has that sickening sweet, banana taste. It did have this really long lasting head, which was fueled by this multitude of bubbles that rose from the bottom of the glass. The biggest disappointment was the taste.

Batch 32 Light brown color,Small head with a decent amount of suspended particules of yeast throughout the brew.Medium sized head with a decent staying power.Malty alcohol caramel aroma, with the taste being much the same as the aroma with a sweet taste.Nice amount of alcohol throughout the tasting with a slight burn at the end.Very good brew but it has a slight harsh side to it as well.

Huge off white head. amber colored body. Interesting creamsicle aroma at first whiff which transforms into orange rind and roasted marshmallow with a hint of spice. Smooth, full mouthfeel. Semi sweet with a quick warm finish accented by green peppers. Excellent brew.
