Commercial Description:
Rose is named for Portland, Oregon, the Rose City. Originally called Golden Rose, this Beer started life as a straight forward Belgian Tripel and evolved into a Beer made with beets, hibiscus flowers and pink peppercorns. She has always been inspired by the Belgian style known as Tripel, which has a low level hops and is deceivingly light in body for its alcohol strength. This is achieved through the use of imported Belgian candi sugar. Not Brewed since 2005.

12oz. Bottle: Very sweet aroma. Smells of Belgian yeast, caramel malts, honey, apple, and pear. Poured copper/amber in color with a medium off-white head that diminished quickly. Cloudy. Lots of huge particles throughout. Very sweet flavor. Tastes of apples, Belgian yeast, honey, fruit, and alcohol. Medium to full body. Chalky, thick texture. Soft to average carbonation. Sweet honey and alcohol finish.

Batch #35. Pours a cloudy amber color with little to no head. Some carbonation a little fizzy. Aroma of malts and apple cider, with a touch of honey. Flavors of the same. Pretty sweet beer.

Pours deep crimson with moderate, dense off-white head. Aroma is funky soil, vegetable, dust, sea salt - right out of the bottle. After settling and warming a bit the aroma changes to slightly floral and citrus-like sour with only hints of these funky aromas. Flavor is mildly sweet, has some basement/stale touches, which add complexity, has some woodiness and touches of bitterness and fruit - kind of like a jam made of unusual berries or rhubarb. Lightly tart and dry on the finish. Well done! Nice interpretation of a belgian, some good funk and alcohol is not at all noticable.

Poured a reddish orange color and had a vry unique smell. No head upon pour and tasted of apples and fruit flavors. I’ve never tasted anything like it. Very unique beer worth at least trying once.

Bottle from Monument Liq in Concord. This is just about the oddest beer I’ve ever tasted. There was practically no head, and the flavor was of sweet flowers and apple cider. It was also odd on the palate, changing in stages. Not one to repeat, but it’s a must taste for the unique flavor.

Muddy amber color. Strong malty aroma, Belgian character; almonds and macadamia nuts. Some malt taste, medium body, a peculiar milk chocolate taste, burning alcohol; both aroma and taste have som rhum. Average bitterness.
