| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Oct 13, 2008 Bottled. Poured slightly hazy medium golden with a short-lived cap of white head. The aroma picked up lighter fruits, pale malts, and a hint of honey in the sweet department with pineapple and floral accents.. the pineapple was quite memorable, and built up as this warmed. The flavor also had a bunch of pineapple, both in sweetness and in bitterness.. primarily pale malts at the core.. long, lingering bitterness on the finish.. tasty. Light-medium bodied with lively carbonation on the palate.. engaging mouthfeel and refreshing bitterness at the finish. Very good stuff! thooper41 (390), Oregon, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Sep 22, 2008 Bottle. This is dissimilar to any other golden ale I’ve ever had. Poured a clear gold with a small white head. Aroma was lacking a little. Main notes were of bread and yeast. Flavor was floral and fruity. Very complex, drinkable beer. Love it.

There’s a lot going on here and I did not expect the complexity. Very fruity and spicy and totally refreshing. My first HOTD brew and I liked it. Exceptional for the style.
