Hakutsuru (White Crane) Tsuru Hime

A "Lite" Sake!?!, Yes, that’s what this is, with only 9% alcohol and 30 % reduced calories, this aims for the "weight watching sake drinker" (Only in Japan!) Clear and colorless, looks like a glass of water but the light herbaceous scent with koji and alcohol (ever so slight) let you know it’s more than a glass of Evian. As with most of our ratings of "Light beer", something else is definately missing from this brew. Has the taste of a "sake flavored" water, no depth or complexity here. Certainly not one to seek out for its exceptional flavor, rather one to avoid (unless your into bland , watery sake)
