dark ruby, thin tan head, sweet butterscotch aroma, starts off with some malt flavor but drops off to nothing, eventually the flavor reappears but is not an improvement, too much bitterness in the finish

Mar 28, 2005 Dark mahogany body, but served with no head. Malty aroma with dark chocolate and roast. Diacetyl? The beer starts good with dark malt flavors, slight smoke, but then the flavor falls off to a buttery mess at the end. It has potential though.

Jun 24, 2003 My favorite brew from this pub. Nice, sweet cocoa and smokey aroma. Dark whiskey colored, caramel head. Prevalent smoked peat flavor, lightly sweet with very light hopping. Light bodied, session-style mouth with lightly tart smokey finish. In the spirit of Belhaven Scottish. Quite good.
