Draft from the excellent brewpub in Fremont, Washington, this excellently made Amber has the perfect balance of sweet malt and earthy hops. Very impressive.

Oct 4, 2008 Copper/red, with a small head. Aroma is hops, caramel, and malt. Flavor is hops, malt, and caramel. medium body.

Sep 13, 2008 12 oz bottle via Liquid SOl. Pours a muddy reddish brown with a small head. Nose is phenolic and some herbal hops. Taste starts with some grainy malts, a lot of alcohol and finishes with a smack you upsdie the head big dose of pine and grapefruit hoppiness. Body is medium/heavy, carbonation is light to medium. More of an IPA than an Amber ale.

Jun 19, 2008 Bottle. Clear copper with a fleeting head. Nice aroma is caramel and toffee with spices. Smooth medium body. Good malt driven flavor is braised caramel with some smoke and milky custard. Finishes nicely bitter. One of Hales old school brews, and one their best.

May 16, 2008 Bottle. Pours dark amber, big head, lively carbonation. Aroma and flavor fall on the malty side, a tad perfumey. Somewhat of a thin mouthfeel and stale. However, I believe that this beer would be much better back in the fall when it was supposed to be consumed. Overall, it is a decent amber.

Apr 16, 2008 Updated: Oct 8, 2008Pours dark amber from the 12 ounce bottle with one finger cream color head and lots of lacing. Aroma is floral hops. Taste is full roasted malts to almost balance the darkly bitter hop flavor. Less carbonation than most. Pleasant and easy drinker.
