Aroma of apples and tannic malt husks. Tasks exactly like a pale ale I brewed. Their must be some crystal hops in there which lends a piney, tinny, tannic bitterness which is balanced well with a sweet candy bread maltiness and a appley esters from the yeast. Over all pretty ordinary pale.

The aroma picked up toasty pale malts with accents of honey, pine, and a touch of cardboard. The flavor was a little tart on the fore with fruity character and piney bitterness present.. pale, rather generic base to it.. spicy and bitter again on the back-end, showcasing pine and earthy hoppage. Light-medium bodied with low carbonation on the palate.. nice and bitter for an APA, but not all that enjoyable. nuplastikk (1214), Madison, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Oct 9, 2009 12oz shorty bottle. Orange-tan color, medium sized patchy head. Fresh, astringent, piny, seawater aroma. The taste is moderately hoppy, with some solid earthy, soapy greenness. The malt side of the equation leaves a little bit to desired, it’s quite thin and watery really. The hops certainly dominate. A West Coast session ale, not bad by any means but not great either. boFNjackson (1318), Portland, Oregon, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 7, 2009 Bottle... Poured an amberish/orange with a thick, white head. Floral aroma of hops and sweet malts. Well balanced brew of malted grains and earthy hops. Not bitter, but not under hopped at all. A crisp, fruit and honey sweetness in there too. mettkea (6), Minnesota, USA does not count | 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 5/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Oct 1, 2009 Bottle brought back from Seattle poured into a shaker. Very nice amber appearance for a pale ale. The aroma is very faint malt smell. The taste has a slight hop presence with a nice earthy tone. arrogantb (712), Denver, Colorado, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Sep 1, 2009 Interesting orange color which was much darker than I expected for a pale ale. Almost no head on this beer except for a few white bubbles, I kept trying a hard pour but nada. Smell is a little bready and some slight sweetness in the background. The taste has a slight bit of citrus and a slight bit of hoppiness. Well balanced with a bready malt taste.
