Coper colored liquid. Moderate off-white head. Citric and like woody pine aromas. Fairly simple, yet full caramel, citrus and floral hops flavors. Very easy drinking and enjoyable.

Very nice strong hops aroma with some good citrus smell. The citrus taste came through along with a sweet malt. A long, bitter but pleasant finish.

Poured orange with a moderate white head. Aroma is brown sugar and citrus hops, with tangerine the most noticable aroma to me. Flavor is caramelly malt up front with a very lingering long dry finish. The hops come through mostly as orange and citrus rind, but became distinctly floral on the midpalate as it warmed up. Very good and better than regular Mongoose has been recently.

Bottle from Malt & Vine. Pours copper/amber with a decent off-white head. Floral, citrus and resin mixed aromas over a hint of caramel. Medium body with rather frothy carbonation. Flavor is malty, but offset by decent hop bitter. There’s a strong grapefruit rind component after the malt washes away. This is really hoppy, and fairly bitter, ale. It’s wonderful.

GABF 2009. Pours clear dark yellow with an average, rocky white head, somewhat lasting with fair lacing. Aroma is heavy malt (cookie, hay, straw, cereal, meal), heavy hop (flowers, perfume, grass, pine, resin, citrus), average yeast (sweat) with notes of pear, peach, and apricot. Medium bodied, oily texture, lively carbonation, and a bitter finish. Long duration, light sweetness, moderate acidity and bitterness.

Bottle: Pours an amber color with a nice head. The nose is soapy with a lot of orange and piney hops, ample caramel and a light metallic note. The flavor is nice, full grapefruit and piney hop note with a fragrant slap of orange. Nice body and a creamy finish. This is about where I’d like to see their usual mongoose, especially on cask!

Bomber by way of scrizzz. Pours light amber with a one finger soapy off-white head that fades to a thin topper but leaves nice lacing. The nose is ripe citrus and malt. The taste is nectarines, orange peel, caramel and a nice resiny finish that lingers for a while. Medium semi-creamy mouthfeel. Much hoppier than the aroma implies. Good IPA – thanks Clint!
