Pours a light hazy golden amber with a big billowy white head that clings to the sides of the glass and leaves a healthy collar for the duration.
Whoa! This is one hell of an aroma for an APA. Hops all over the place. There’s definitely some pithy grapefruit with some pineapple as well as a generous sappy pine aroma as well. There is some lightly toasted bready malt in the background but the hops are front and center.
The taste is more of the same with tons and tons of hops, cedar, pine, pineapple, oranges and even some grassy hops. The malts backbone is just enough to support the hops and the finish is lightly bitter with mostly citrus.
The mouthfeel is light bodied but still sticky with hops and leaves a pleasant bitterness on the palate.
I loved this beer, as it packs a ton of hoppy bitterness into a light-bodied and super drinkable pale ale. I would stock my fridge with this if I had access. One of the best APAs I’ve ever had. hombrepalo (773), Chicago, Illinois, USA

Poured orange with some light head. Aroma of light citrus and oily hops. Taste is similar with a watery hoppy finish. Pretty good, reminds me of a lighter version of Two Hearted. savnac (432), Palmer, Alaska, USA

Pours a slightly hazy copper/orange with a small dense white head. Aroma is citrus and pine, you can really tell that this was dry hopped. Taste is an excellent balance of sweet malt and bitter hops, the bitterness is pushing into IPA territory but that suits me just fine. This one goes down really smooth, mouth feel is light, crisp and refreshing. Very nice, thanks again Vince. RAYBOY01 (1834), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Nov 17, 2009 On tap at the Beer Bistro prior to FoBAB ’09. Hazy golden pour, with moderate white head. Lots of pine and grapefruit in the nose. Decently balanced APA...crystal malt sweetness counters the pretty heavy-handed hop scoop. Big pine and grapefruit bitterness in the finish. Tends to get more astringent and drying as it lingers on the palate...and I deducted a few for that. But all in all, pretty impressive brew. thomson1 (9), Illinois, USA does not count | 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Nov 4, 2009 Daisy Cutter is the gem coming out of the new Chicago brewery, Half Acre. | 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Nov 1, 2009 Sampled from 64-oz growler during Darkness Day 2009 in Brooklyn Center, MN. Pours a semi-hazy golden amber colored brew with a thick off-white head that has some nice retention and lacing. Aroma of citrus zest, a hint of caramel and golden grain malt, grapefruit and some pineapple. Taste is medium bodied, with a favor of caramel malt, citrus zest, a hint of orange and some pine. Finish is quite smooth, with some orange and grapefruit aftertaste. Almost into an IPA character for this pale ale. daknole (2960), Plantation, Florida, USA
