Pours a muddy orange brown with a small circle of foam around the glass. Roasted coffee and chocolate malt nose as well as some fruit peel, biscuit and saaz. Tastes sweet and malty with caramel, coffee, chocolate cookie crumb, and a dark fruityness, finishing on a sour, chewy hop flavour. Medium bodied, thick, satisfying moutfeel. Really great beer. A new favourite for sure. mnurda (371), Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada Feb 28, 2007 Dangerous at 7.2% is correct. Was not prepared for such a kick. Nice hop flavour to it. I am really starting to like this Dubbel styles mar (840), Dallas, Texas, USA Oct 22, 2008 bottle thanks to bu11zeye. deep brown color with a thin layer of cream froth. dark fruits and sweet malts. great thickness with a woody, fruity flavor that is quite good. no alcohol in the finish and smooth on the way down. also lumpy says he likes a big fat ass when it comes to women. Boutip (1912), Gatineau, Quebec, Canada Jul 20, 2007 Bottle courtesy of Piscator34: Poured a clear medium amber color ale with a medium foamy head with some good retention and some lacing. Aroma of sweet malt is dominating with a light yeasty finish. Body is about average with some good carbonation and no alcohol was discernable. To be honest, I was a bit disappointed by this one and I was expecting more complexity and some dry fruits (figs) component. oakbluff (249), Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada Mar 17, 2007 Poured into a Half Pints glass. Had this many times in the last two months but am down to my last bomber so I better rate it. Pours a cloudy tangerine/caramel with minimal head. Some lacing. Aroma is sweet and toasty. Taste follows suit. The Vienna malts really shine through in this brew and give it a very rich mouthfeel and body. Solid amount of hops and a reasonably dry finish- not mouth puckering dry but a nice hey how are you dryness. The yeast gives it some nice fruitiness, but this beer is mostly about the malts to me. Very enjoyable and great first entry into the Trinity.
