Dark brown colour. Fresh yeasty aroma. Flavour has a light sourness, it’s sharp but a little bit of sweetness also comes through.

At an slijterij in opmeer, 33cl bottle, cloudy brown, sugary and spicey, not much fruit hinds, far in the taste some complex parts, nice one.

Bottle 30cl. @ [ Thisted tasting ].
Clear light to medium size body particles, a medium to dark brown color, with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white to beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, caramel, dark berry, raisin, prune, light to moderate yeasty, light alcoholic. Flavor is moderate to light heavy sweet, light light acidic and light to moderate bitter with a long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20090316]

Thisted tasting. Courtesy of Fonefan. The color is a beautiful, red mahogany and the head is creamy. The aroma has notes of roasted malt and slightly sour berries. The flavour has sweetness and notes of roasted malt, caramel, sourness, berries and yeast.

(Bottle 30 cl) Courtesy of jbrus. Dark brown with an orange hue, floating impurities and a small, beige head. Somewhat burned caramel notes in the nose. Quite full-bodied with plenty of roasted malt and burned caramel notes. Very subdued bitterness. Quite surprised to see this labeled as a Belgian Strong, to me it appears to be a rather classical and lovely Doppelbock. 160907

Bottle, 8%. 5 months past BB date. Sweet, roasted brown sugar aroma. Small light brown head. Mildly roasted and dusty flavour, a little sweet. Low to medium carbonation. Thin mouthfeel. Finishes roasted, but otherwise thin. Very good, but not exceptional.

(Bottle, Monk’s Café, Stockholm, 24 Feb 2007) Dark brown colour, almost black, with pale brown foamy head. Malty, roasted nose with notes of dark bread, prunes and roasted nuts. Malty, slightly roasted taste with dark rye bread and some sweetness throughout. Medium body with firm but smooth mouthfeel. Tasty and very well balanced.
