Jul 11, 2009 Bottled. Dark brown colour, close to black, mediumsized brownish head. Aroma is caramel malts, some roasted malts as well as coffee and chocolate. Flavour is roasted malts, some burnt wood, chocolate and dark dry fruity notes as well.

Sep 29, 2008 Bottle, Ale Cellar, Darlington. Poured a deep dark brown, near enough black really. Not much of a head to speak of.
Malty,chocolate orange aroma. Soft mouthfeel. Sweet, roasted malt flavour with good fruit notes. Dryish finish. A tidy porter for sure.

Jun 4, 2008 Bottle. Pours dark brown with a diminishing light brown head. Small lacing. Sweetish, roasted aroma. Notes of cooked vegetables appear as it warms, but it’s not that bad. Flavour is sweet and roasted as well, with a medium bitterness and liquorice notes. Metallic notes appear as it warms. Finish is coffee and bitter chocolate with a sweet touch. A decent porter. 05-06-08.
