Bottle, Ale Cellar, Darlington. Poured a deep dark brown, near enough black really. Not much of a head to speak of. Malty, chocolate orange aroma. Soft mouthfeel. Sweet, roasted malt flavour with good fruit notes. Dryish finish. A tidy porter for sure.

Bottle. Pours dark brown with a diminishing light brown head. Small lacing. Sweetish, roasted aroma. Notes of cooked vegetables appear as it warms, but it’s not that bad. Flavour is sweet and roasted as well, with a medium bitterness and liquorice notes. Metallic notes appear as it warms. Finish is coffee and bitter chocolate with a sweet touch. A decent porter. 05-06-08.
