Tastes strongly of black coffee, also a lot of plain chocolate and some tar. Bit of sharp fruit - maybe damsons? Heady - you really get the high alcohol content coming through. Far, far too bitter though, to the point of unpleasantness in the aftertaste. More sweetness would bring the flavours out better. Disappointing after a promising start. Enjoyit (1745), Vadum, Denmark

| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Nov 15, 2007 Very dark red brown with a large and lasting beige head. Liquorice malt aroma. Taste is intensely sweet with even a hint of spirits. Slightly astringent artificiality in the finish isn’t what I look for in a porter.
