Bottle@Thewolf. Pours deep amber with a creamy head. Aroma & taste have loads of pleasant chocolate notes. Dry, creamy & smooth palate. Some hops in the end. Very pleasant & Hambleton was a british" hitter " this night!

Bottle @ thewolfs pre-festival tasting, Kolding.
[thank you, ChristianScheffel]
Pours deep mahogany with a fine, small, creamy film head. Aroma is pure chocolate yumminess with some subdued hoppy character. Fine, creamy mouthfeel. Flavour is nice, some cocoa, roasted, dry. Great balance.

50 cL bottle. Pours pitch black with a lacing tan head. Aroma is hardroasted malt and coffee, light acidic touch. Flavour is sweet and roasted malt going into a light acidic flavour. Shows a mild mouldy hops bitterness. Mix of chocolate and roasted malt in addition.

[500ml bottle - gift from Mum] Shared with Jim. Tastes strongly of black coffee, also a lot of plain chocolate and some tar. Bit of sharp fruit - maybe damsons? Heady - you really get the high alcohol content coming through. Far, far too bitter though, to the point of unpleasantness in the aftertaste. More sweetness would bring the flavours out better. Disappointing after a promising start.

Very dark red brown with a large and lasting beige head. Liquorice malt aroma. Taste is intensely sweet with even a hint of spirits. Slightly astringent artificiality in the finish isn’t what I look for in a porter.
