500 ml bottle, bought in Scarborough. ABV is 6.5%. Black coloured beer, ruby in the highlights. Large to moderate tan head. Pleasant roasty and vinous aroma with notes of chocolate, coffee and claret. Full and rich moutheel. The flavour abounds with chocolate, also coffee and roasted barley. Excellent beer.

The head is huge and creamy on this black beer. The aroma has lovely notes of chocolate and the mouth feel is soft and creamy. The flavour is soft and alluring with clear notes of chocolate and a bit of coffee and it has a light bitterness. It’s a gentle and yet powerful porter, and I enjoyed this bottle for an hour or so, and it’s like it kept on developing until the last drop. I have since enjoyed more of this beer, and it’s really nice.

(Bottle 50 cl) Clear, dark brown - almost opaque - with an orange hue and a creamy, beige head that leaves a neat lacework. Soft and very pleasant aroma of roasted malt. Good, full body, lightly sweet roasted malts and a slightly burned edge. Distinct notes of licorice. Has some malt bitterness in the finish. A lovely Porter. 280207

Bottle, 6.5%. Fruity, dusty aroma. Very dark brown colour, very small white head. Flavourful, sweet liquorice turning quite bitter.

Bottle. Dark brown color with a light brown head. Aroma is coffee, chocolate and notes of licorice. Roasted malty, salty, chocolate and licorice taste, with a hoppy finish. Smooth and full bodied.

Black body, beige head; Small a bit thin nose of chocolate, malt and a few flowers; Medium bitter body, little carbonation, sharp texture; Long finish, burnt, licorice and hop aromas, very bitter, salty, very unbalanced. Very little coherence between nose and body.

Dark brown. Light brown head. Mostly lasting and lacing. Aroma and flavor is mainly bitter-hopped. Has a bit thin palate for a porter, but a nice bitterness, not much sweetness. Aroma starts with lactic notes. Burnt notes too.

Nose is deep and coffee with some olive notes. Pours dark with a quickly dissipating head. Flavour is big and complex with a lot of coffee and cocoa and a finishing acidity in the back of the throat that warms pleasantly. A very good porter.
