yngwie (3394), Kristiansand, Norway Jul 7, 2008 Cask at Cockney Pub, Århus. A ruby to dark brown beer with a creamy, medium to small beige head leaving some lacings. Slightly coffeeish nose, quite roasted, with some fruityness. Roasted, coffee aroma, a bit buttery, but in a pleasant way, some dark bitterness, a touch of cocoa and some bonfire-like smoke notes. Medium, smooth mouthfeel. Really pleasant, smooth-drinking beer feeling big without being that. A dark clear red-brown beer with a beutiful brown head. The aroma is sweet with notes of roasted malt and chocolate as well as hints of spicy hops. The flavor is sweet and very malty with strong notes of chocolate as well as medium notes of coffee, leading to a dry roasted finish, which also has a hint of acidity from the roasted malt. The mouthfeel is very smooth. Nice.
