Sep 9, 2006 Cask, GBBF 06. Very dark brown with a beige head. Aromas are earthy, light roast malts with chocolate. Flavours are dry earthy roast malts with chocolate and tea. Some brown sugar. Quite hoppy. A bit thin but still decent.

Aug 26, 2006 (Cask at GBBF, London, 2 Aug) Colour is dark brown, almost black, with ruby notes when seen through light, small head. Nose is roasted with evident notes of chocolate and oyster sauce. Taste is roasted with chocolate, coffee and hints of soy sauce and tar. Very well balanced, dry, smooth, with a lovely hoppy finish. A old favourite of mine, still reliable.

Jun 10, 2006 Cask gravity at Catford BF 06. Very dark brown/ruby with thin beig. Choccy porter. Quite nice with a bit of tartness on finish.

Black and rich on the palate. Roast malt finish.
2. Cask Handpump at the Mill Hotel, Chester 05/04/2008
Small tan head. Fruit and roast aromas. Black and hoppy with some alcohol present. Fruity bubble gum flavour. Crisp bitter and slightly dry coffee roast finish.
3. Cask Handpump at Scholars Bar, Scarborough 06/02/2009
Roast aroma. White head. Dark coloured and smooth on the palate with some alcohol present. Crisp dry and slightly bitter burnt roast finish.
