Commercial Description:
Cask, regular;
This is an extra stout porter but unlike many stouts, Nightmare is not harsh or overly bitter. This smooth, massively flavoured creamy drink is best served on the ’warm’ side, allowing full appreciation of this four malt brew. Strong malts dominate, but hoppiness rears out of this complex blend. Nightmare has won the Gold Award – ‘Stout and Porter’ class SIBA (North) Festival in 1999, 2003 and 2006 and went on to become Champion Beer at the SIBA (North) Festival in 1995 and 2006

Cask at Charlie’s Bar, Copenhagen. A dark clear red-brown beer with a beutiful brown head. The aroma is sweet with notes of roasted malt and chocolate as well as hints of spicy hops. The flavor is sweet and very malty with strong notes of chocolate as well as medium notes of coffee, leading to a dry roasted finish, which also has a hint of acidity from the roasted malt. The mouthfeel is very smooth. Nice.

From cask at Charlies. Pours dark brown with a deep redish glare and a lacing tan head. Aroma is roasted malt and with a mild note of liqourice. Flavour is very minor smoked at first with a solid roasted malt and mild liqourice note following. Light acidic touch in the finish followed by a dry roasted note.

A Mes rate: Gravicask at the Bricklayers.
Very dark brown with a thin bubbly head. Coffee and roasted malt nose with strong notes of dried fruit and a slight sourness. Similar flavour but it’s really well balanced. Very slight hops really sorts it. Pleasing coffee finish. Good stuff. Perhaps a little thiin in the mouth. Drinks like a mild. Like a dark bitter. Interesting.
