Commercial Description:
Cask; Regular. Also available in pasteurised bottle.
This premium bitter has a distinctly malty character with a hint of nuttiness. The enhanced hopping rate recreates for many the good old days of a true Yorkshire bitter. Stallion gained the coveted award of Champion Beer at the 1994 York Festival.

A copper colored beer with a nice light brown head. The aroma is sweet yeasty with notes of citrus and caramel. The flavor is yeasty with notes of citrus, goldings hops, and toffee, leading to a dry quite bitter end.

(Bottle 50 cl) Pours amber with a slight haze and an off-white head leaving a discreet lacework. Lightly nutty aroma. Light body, dry and malty with notes of nuts and a vague, metallic edge. Some bitterness in the finish. Overall rather uninteresting. 030306

From cask at Charlies. Pours cloudy orange with a lacing off-white head. Light toasted to breadish dry malt aroma. Flavour follows this with a mild fruity note in addition. Light liqourice note into the finish. Finish holds a light bitterness yet still mixed with the same malt flavours. Very pleasent biter.

Cask at the Wharf. Nice malty sweet aroma. Dark copper/brown colour. OK head. Very nice flavour, sweet fruity hoppiness, a little spicy. Finishes on a good bitter note, cleaning the palate. Pleasantly low carbonation.

Cask Conditioned at Charlie’s Pub, Copenhagen
Amber color; thin persistent head. Common aroma, the flavor is much better, malty, with caramel; fresh, easy drinkable, with light malt fruitness; and it has a good hopping, even if not particularly aromatic. Long final. Good.

Cask gravity at Catford BF 06. Amber with disappearing off white head. Some red fruit. Balance is quite good Just the right level of peppery hop and red fruit.

Red mahogany and a nice head. the aroma has notes of roasted malt and hops, and I find the same in the flavour. It’s a bit thin in the body, so this stallion isn’t very feisty. The finish has a nice bitterness.
