Commercial Description:
Cask; Regular. Also available in pasteurised bottle.
In a class of its own, there is no denying the pedigree of this beer. National award winning brewer, Nick Stafford, has created a recipe of subtle bitterness and aromatic finish that will be repeated for generations. This wonderfully smooth drinking beer began life as an 'Autumn Special'. It was immediately the most popular special we had produced. Aroma hops give a delicacy and subtlety to the robust full-bodied flavour. Straw coloured.

Bottle, picked up by dad, had this 23-12-07 Pours standard brown colour, a nice if unremarkable beer but still it was quite tasty. Light bitterness and some earthy characteristics are the key attributes, quite nice.

Bottle: Pours a light yellow white whispy head. Aroma features preserved candifruit, hints of ripe stone fruit, a touch of woody oak. On the palate the woody note is pronounced with a light fruity whisky character. The mouthfeel is decididly light almost thin with a slightly hollow finish. This reminded me of a scotch on the rocks thats been left till the ice has melted. Very interesting beer, , Id love to know where the oak/whisky character is coming from.

Cask at C4, Odense: Pale golden with creamy white head. Hops & malts in the aroma. Smooth light watery texture. Bitter hops in the end. Clean & crisp. OK Cask & OK bitter!

Keg, guest ale at Babbity Bowster, Glasgow. A rather boring and run of the mill English bitter. Some hops, sure, but having this as a guest ale in Scotland is a bit of a waste.

A mid amber orange coloured beer with a weak white head. A light hoppy nose, lemony citrus fruit aroma that leads to a honeyed smell. a dry citrusy fruit taste, lemony, grassy but a sweet honeyed taste balances the final flavour. The finish is dry. (Cask - The Ouse Amateur Sailing Club, King’s Lynn, Norfolk).

Nice head and a light golden color. The aroma is hoppy and the flavour is quenching and refreshing. It has lots of hops and light fruity notes. This stud should go into breeding ASAP!

Bottle. Clear light orange amber color with a small fair lacing white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, moderate hoppy, fruit. Initial flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and light bitter, finish flavor is light sweet and moderate bitter with a average to long duration. Body is light to medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. A very good ale.

Bottle. Golden amber with a medium rather short lasting off-white head. Aroma of hops, fruity, sweet caramel. Flavour is fresh, moderate roasty maltiness, toasty caramel, nice moderate fruitiness. Bitter lightly fruity finish. A very good ale.
