fonefan (4328), Ulfborg, Denmark Jun 16, 2008 Cask @ Reading Beer Festival 2008. Clear medium red brown color with a average, frothy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is light malty, roasted, caramel, burnt, light yeasty, barnyard, soap, earth, wood. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is flat. (030508) Mes_and_Sim (4176), London, Greater London, England May 7, 2008 A Mes rate: Gravicask at Reading Beer Festival. Decent dark brown looks with a thin white film. A little raw and appley but some slight coffee and roasted malt notes just about save the day. Not amazing. chris_o (4405), London, Greater London, England Apr 22, 2007 Cask (gravity dispense) at Reading Beer Festival, April 2006. Very dark colour. Slightly vinous aroma. There’s some light malt in the flavour but generally its more fruity than roasty and the palate. The firm malt comes through more on the finish and it ends up quite dry and firm. Plenty of flavour for 3.2%. A very decent mild.
kook (2035), Perth, Western Australia, Australia May 19, 2006 Cask @ Ealing BF 06: Black in colour. Choc and a touch of liquorice. A bit thin but dry and moreish. Tasty. duff (5404), Sydney, Australia, Surrey, England May 17, 2006 Cask@Ealing Beer On Broadway. Quite light as per style, but very pleasant. Some lightly sweet chocolate and caramel, with subtle roastyness towards the finish. Palate borders on watery, but it still manages to cover a decent portion of the tongue.
