Every once is a while when we get together with friends she will make a comment indicating that “a beer sure would sound good” (especially if our friends are drinking Michelob Golden Draft Light – her favorite). Being the dedicated husband that I am I have switched to Hamm’s throughout the duration of the pregnancy as my wife absolutely despises it and I kinda like it. This accomplishes two things:
1. I get to keep drinking beer.
2. My wife does not miss drinking beer because the fridge is stocked with beer she doesn’t like.
In reality I would classify Hamm’s as sort-of a decent nostalgic beer. When I think of Hamm’s I think of the beer both my dad and my grandpa drank when I was young. I also think of the great Hamm’s bear ads from the 1970s and early 1980s. Hamm’s isn’t the greatest beer but it certainly isn’t the worst either. For $15 for a 30 pack you could do a lot worse. pojo41 (315), Hattiesburg, Mississippi, USA

Do we really need that many shitty beers? Best thing about this was the bear. homer2210 (7), USA does not count | 1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 1/10 | 5/5 | 1/10 | 1/5 | 2/20 | Jun 18, 2007 This is more for the cheaper things in life, watered down American beer.

| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Apr 29, 2007 From a 12 oz. can with a coded freshness date on the bottom of can, sampled ice cold in a pint glass, given to me by my friend Jon, who is a "lurker" on the site.
Poured a clear pale golden yellow with a large foamy white that settled into a thin sudsy lacing.
Faint macro lager nose, lemony, mineral salt and grainy metallic.
Good carbonation and a crisp, dryish, smooth light bodied mouthfeel.
Better tasting than what I was expecting, soft lemony hops, very brisk in their soft bitterness, sweet grainy malts, your typical thin macro lager malt taste, very subtle notes of sweet corn, not overly cooked, and a dry salty, grainy finish.
It has been ages since I’ve seen Hamm’s on tap, I’m sure you can buy kegs of this, its just that when I first started going to bars Hamm’s, PBR and Old Style were on tap everywhere in Illinois and Wisconsin, now I only see Old Style on tap, an unimportant observation I guess.
