General66 (91), Streator, Illinois, USA Jun 16, 2008 12 ounce can. My sister and I picked up a six pack of this to cook bratwurst. We had a few left over, so I decided to give one a whirl. I need to preface this by saying that being a college student, I have had a LOT of cheap beer. This one was surprisingly not that bad. I drak it straight out of the can so I cannot say what it looked like... I would assume it looked like your typical pale lager. The smell was not offensive... it was very light with hints of grass and some VERY light hops. The taste was bland but not offensive at all. It did not leave a bad aftertaste which raises this a notch in my book. For what this is, it is a decent brew!
RevZombie666 (14), Washington, Washington DC, USA Aug 7, 2008 I love the haters of good, summertime beer. Hamms is a fantastic old favorite. Yeah, you’re going to have a stiff hangover, but don’t drink 12 of them. If anyone knows where to find Hamms on the East Coast, let me know. AOF (280), Naperville, Illinois, USA Jul 22, 2008 12 oz can. Typical american lager. Corny malt aromas, high drinkability, but thats about it. bulletrain76 (531), Santa Cruz, California, USA Jul 5, 2008 12oz can. Super pale yellow color, but excellent head retention and lacing. Light grainy aroma. The flavor is a little sweet with pretty much no bitterness. You can really taste the grain flavors much more than in more mainstream macros. Husky and corny flavors are quite apparent, but add some character that I feel gets lost in the pure flavorlessness of miller or bud. Definitely tastes cheap, but hey, it is. Similar to PBR, but a side-by-side shows it to be a little rougher. Though it’s still only suitable for occasions where you are forced into the style, Hamms really does seem to be a good example of the american macro lager. mweber962000 (49), USA Jun 17, 2008 love hamms but bad hangover. i drink this extensively and exclusively only on float trips in so missouri. which is alot. it is what is and in a canoe on the merema.... its the meaning of life. if drank on a daily basis. id probably abuse my wife.
