Dark wheat beer. Sweet malty caramel flavour with a tangy finish. In the style of a German Dunkel Weizen.

Bottle conditioned. Dark ruddy brown with thin, lasting white head. Aroma of tart fruit, coffee & hints of yeast. Medium bodied with good conditioning. Tastes almost like a mild with the addition of an un-mild like tart edge; plenty of roasty, cocoa-y flavours with a long tarty finish. Enjoyed it.

Dark brown with an off white head. Yeast andd toffee malt aroma. Rather a grim and uncompromising initial taste, sour and earthy. But there are undercurrents of an ashy grainy dryness as well. Not a favourite to be honest.

Bottle conditioned. Dark brown colour with a slim off-white head. Aroma is malt and chocolate. Taste is sour, masking most everything else. There is some maltiness in there, but hard to tell. Not impressed.

Bottle. Dark brown with a beige head. Aromas are malty with chocolate and quite a degree of sourness. Must be tainted. Flavours are equally sour with lots of grapefruit. Not especially malty. Surely not flavours that a Dunkel should have. Would like to try a well served cask pint.

London Gathering Nov 05: Dark copper with a light tan head. Mildly malty aroma, similar flavour with a few choc notes. A bit chalky in feel, but perfectly drinkable.
