Commercial Description:
Cask; Regular. Also available bottle conditioned.
A distinctive hop aroma draws you into this amber coloured bitter. The palate has a mineral dryness which accentuates the crisp hop flavour and clean bitter finish. Styrian Goldings, often used for dry hopping, are in this case used as a late hop addition during boiling, leading to a rich floral aroma and complex, integrated hop character.
Ingredients: Maris Otter pale malt, crystal malt. Progress, Goldings and Styrian Goldings hops.

[CASK: The Waterhouse, Manchester 24/04/07] A please to drink after a run of bad tasting ales (must have been picking the wrong ones)!! Nothing too amazing but overall nice and pleasant! Definatly one that you can knock back with ease! Worth trying if you find it.

bottle, bought at a shop in Winchester. Hazy amber colour, large and persistent off-white head. Fruity nose. Light-bodied but full-flavoured. Slightly malty with hints of caramel and some very nice hoppy flavours to round it off.

Handpulled cask at Crosse Keys(JDW) Monument, London, during recent International beer fest. Orange with a good lasting white head, in very lively condition. Good body and well balanced with juicy malts and citric hop notes. Decent.

[on cask at Nag’s Head, Reading] Deep amber/orange with a slight but lasting white head. Surprisingly rich - flavours are malt, leaves, some earthiness, a bit of sweet rhubarb crumble and maybe a hint of honey leaving a rather sweet, almost sticky palatte - there’s not a lot of bitterness here. The stickiness made it taste like a stronger beer than its ABV suggested - in fact, reminded me a little of Fullers ESB. Not bad at all for a bitter.

Bottle 500ml from Tesco’s, New Milton. Bottle conditioned. Pours a slightly hazy amber colour with a small white head. Not a heavy aroma, but what there was was a kind of fruity/hoppy. Medium bodied; quite bitter in taste, with some fruits coming through as well. The bitterness lingers on for a while – can’t say I particularly noticed the dryness.

Cask (Market Porter, London)
Another traditional English bitter. Decent malty body, and reasonable noble hop component.

Cask-conditioned at the Crosse Keys (JDW), City of London 3/4/08. Pale amber with a moderate white head. Aroma of strawberries, apricots and floral hops. Flavour had some sweet malt, plenty of fruit and A citrus hop finish. Good.
