Commercial Description:
Cask; Seasonal - March and also occsionally at other times. Also available bottle conditioned.
A classic Best Bitter, rich copper coloured and balanced malt and hop flavours. Brewed with Maris Otter and a blend of Crystal and Brown malts giving a malt complexity with a hint of toasted dryness in the finish. The hops confer a soft, balanced bitterness and typically English roundness to the palate.

Bottle. Pretty much no aroma or flavour. Slightly apple fruit flavours and not hell of a lot more. Very watery finish. Stale.

Dark amber, firm head. Malty with some dark fruits present. A touch of toffee end this rather refreshing pint.

Hand pulled at the Bartons Arms, Birmingham. Copper colour, with a smoothly lacing head. Another beer served deliciously fresh at the Bartons! Very good dry hoppy-ness on the finish - nice bitterness. Faint choc in the mouth initially and for me this dulls the impact of the beer slightly, hinting at murkiness; but really it is good stuff. .
