Commercial Description:
Double Peg makes it’s return! This brew is what hop lovers long for. With just over nine pounds of hops per barrel, including twenty-four pounds of dry hops, this ale just screams hops. Three different rounds of dry-hopping gives this I2PA it’s intense aroma that we so love here at the Brewhouse. Get ready for a taste of the fresh, green goodness of hops! ABV 8.3%

clear amber, fine dirty white head, lots of lace, huge sweet pine aroma, creamy body, tons of hop flavor on a sweet caramel base, hop flavor builds on your tongue but the bitterness is low making it very drinkable,

Growler courtesy of kp sampled on 1/4/07: Pours a slightly hazy copper orange with a nicely-lacing, thin wispy white head. Sweet, piny grapefruity hoppy aroma has a nice touch of caramel malt. Body starts full and caramely sweet with good fresh hoppy flavor throughout. A nice double IPA.

Draft sample at Knoxville Brew Jam. Poured a hazy copper with an average frothy white head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate floral sour citrus hoppy aroma. Medium to full body. Heavy bittersweet flavor with a medium bittersweet finish of moderate duration. Another good beer from this brewer.

Growler. Poured a hazy copper color with a thin off-white head. The aroma had a nice grapefruit hoppy nose with some earthy hop notes and malt thrown into the mix. The flavor had a short malty start that was followed bygrapefruit and citrus that went on for a long time. Medium to full bodied. Semi-dry and moderately bitter finish. Nice warming sensation.

Ever so faintly cloudy orange, with a white head. Really enticing resiny, piney aroma. A little earthy at first, then an explosion of grapefruit and other citrusy hops. Long sticky finish. Impressive. At the 2007 Knoxville Brewer’s Jam.

Sampled on draft at the brewpub. Pours a clear copper color with a medium head. Good head retention and lacing. Strong citrus and floral hop notes in the aroma. Taste is very nice. Lots of hops, with resiny, citrus, herbal and earthy notes. Nice use of Simcoe here. Sweet caramel maltiness as well. Medium bodied. Good beer.
