Sep 26, 2006 Sampled at the 10th annual Brewgrass festival. Pours a golden straw color with minimal head. Spicy with grapefruit in the aroma. Grassy hints. The flavor was enjoyable with light grainish sweetness lovely grapefruit hops and notes of other citrus and wood (Simcoe, Mt Hood, Cascade, and one other hop I can’t recall). Spicy dry finish. An enjoyable pale ale.

Jul 10, 2006 Draught at the wbf in Raleigh. Nice copper color, small white head. Aroma is a pleasant blend of hops and malt. Hoppy flavor, a little light on malt. Otherwise, fairly good.

Jun 3, 2006 Draught at the brewpub. Clear copper color with thin off white head. No lace. Attractive, aromatic flowery hop nose and flavor. Smooth with relatively little carbonation. Finish is slightly bitter. One of their better offerings.

Oct 24, 2005 Sampled at 2005 Asheville Brewer’s Jam. Coppery orange, with a decent white head. Aroma of grapefruit, mostly. Flavor is citric hops and a smoky edge, too. clean finish.

Oct 23, 2005 On tap at the Brewgrass Festival in Asheville, pours a nice, deep copper color. Smells pretty hoppy. It actually tastes like pig. Some hops, but definitely some ham taste to it. Not really what I look for in a beer.

Aug 10, 2005 GABF ’04 Light golden in color with a small white head. Aroma of mellow citrus/grapefruit. Flavor is citrusy/hoppy with mild maltiness underneath.
