Commercial Description:
You will enjoy the flavor of this increasingly popular Japanese fruit. HANA Fuji Apple appeals with its fresh aroma that fulfills the palate with the crisp tartness of the fruit. The lovely, lingering finish continues the taste of rich apple flavor. Its low alcohol makes it a fine aperitif, either straight up or on the rocks.

(Sample Date: 5/2/2009 Source:Other) Apple Flavored Sake. Apple sweetness in aroma - almost a stinkbug sweetness. Flavor is rubber band, apple. Finish is sweet with apple notes sticking around.

Bottle courtesy of dkachur on 05/02/2009. Clear off-white body with no head and light legs. Very sweet apple aroma with some light vanilla hints. Sweet, almost spicy, apple flavor with a bit of light vanilla. Medium light body with no carbonation.

Courtesy of maniac, my first infused sake, sampled at the end of the Big Brew Day in Beaverdam. Fruity apple aroma. Clear with what honesty looked to be a slight green tint. Flavor was odd, sweet apple with a strange note of rubber. This wasn’t as bad as it would sound, but it was clearly a bit different. But not bad. I suspect that this might be not the most serious sake in the world.

750 mL bottle from Market Street Wineshop and Grocery, downtown location, Charlottesville, VA. Pours nearly clear with the faintest possible greenish tint. Aroma is pure tart green apple candy. Taste is a fresher seeming green apple (not so candy-like) and faint melon, caramel and rice notes. Sweet and sugary all the way through. Full bodied.

Bottle: Clear with no legs. Nose of green apple jolly ranchers, fresh pressed cider and some must. The flavor has some koji initially then apple extract, melon and some sweetness take over. Sweet, light body. Little sake if any.
