Sep 16, 2008 Cask at the alfred herring. Aroma is roasty, tart acidic subtle notes, grassy hops is also subtle, small biscuity malt notes. Taste is again a roasty base, with small acidic tart note. An interesting beer, but not my deal .

Jan 12, 2008 Cask, Whitefriars, Coventry. Dark brown pint with ruby tints. Milk chocolate, bitter roast and sourish fruity hops. Bitterly roasty finish with sweet biscuity afters. Solid porter, disrupted by deranged paramedic pisshead.

May 23, 2007 Cask handpull at Thomas Ingoldsby (JDW), Canterbury. Dark ruby, lasting beige head. Some choc, reasonable fullness, some malt/cereal character. Choc is sweetish Cadbury Dairy Milk in mouth, dryer on finish with some grainyness. Fine, but too sweet.

May 9, 2007 Cask conditioned at the Ratepayers’ Arms, Filton 4/5/2007. Ruddy brown colour with a long lasting off-white head. Aroma of sweet malt with a bit of chocolate in the background. Flavours were of figs and prunes with a bit of coffee in the finish. Ok.

Cask at Baker Street ’Spoons. Red / brown colour with a decent tan head, lightish colour for a porter. Caramel and sweet alcoholic malt in the nose. Similar in the flavour. A little watery in the palate for a porter. So so.
