Thanks Larry for being able to get this for me. I broke it out to celebrate my lady’s birthday. It pours with no head but a nice purple/pink/reddish color. Aroma is light apple, light acetone, and some cork and wood. It also seems like heat coming off, not alcohol but a warming spiciness in there. Flavor is more of a lambic with earthy sourness and a bretty backbone. No real berry flavor, just some in the burps I have. It has a pretty flat body akin to an unblended lambic almost. That weird part of the aroma definitely comes out at the end of the beer as well. If I were attribute something to the cassis in the flavor it would not be sweet but just an earthy, green, skin aspect.
375mL cork and wire, New Belgium round goblet glass.

Bottle. Pours clear ruby with a spare, fizzy, white head, diminishing with spare lacing. Aroma is average malt (hay, bread), light hop (flowers), heavy yeast (horse blanket, barnyard) with bandage, medicine, currants, and cellar. Medium bodied, slick texture, light carbonation, and a tart-dry finish. Long duration, light sweetness, moderate acidity, and heavy sourness. This one seemed less tart and acidic than expected with heavy yeasty overtones.

A Mes rate. Barrel at the Weekend of Tarts.
A very clean blood red colour. Cassis syrup, slight nail polish, great fruit just slightly astringent. Again, a little too acid to really get excited about. A very clean finish with plenty of length. Really good but cassis is not usually my thing.
