Red brown pour with a slight purple tint. Little head. Grassy vinegar aroma. Slight sweetness quickly overpowered by very tart and sour woody funk.

Thanks Frylock! Pours a grape pop purple with no head. APpears to be entirely flat. Nose is lemony lambic goodness, funk, wood, some olive brine, berry fruitiness. Flavor is acidity, some fruit juice, more of that brine. The second bottle was way less briney than the second - and better for it!

375ml bottle Experimental Cassis: Magenta colored with no head whatsoever. Very nice aroma, leather, barnyard funk and acidic fruitiness. Totally still with a major acidic sourness. Underlying fruits, raspberries and currents beneath the overt sourness.

Bottle. listed as Hanssens Experimental.Pours an extremly flat deep purple red. Tart, musty, earthy, berry /currant. Flavor wasnt as sour or tart as imagined. Pretty easy drinking. Tamer flavor than expected. Nice complexity & flavor.

375 ml bottle, as Experimental Cassis. Pours a clear ruby-garnet body with zero head at all. Looks completely still in the glass. The nose is sour, dry, and dusty with some raw oak and tart seedy raspberries. The flavor is much more fruit forward than almost any other lLambic that I have had. Maybe because of it being really young? So juicy and jammy with the perfect acidity and sourness levels, dry and oaky on the finish. The mouthfeel isn’t quite still though, a little clingy and sweet up front with the oak and acidity drying things out on the back end. Very nice, a Lambic that doesn’t beat you over the head with acidity. I hope they bottle this regularly.

Surprised to find this recently. Pour is a murky reddish brown color with zero head. Might be good with a little more age on it as the palate flavors are a little out of whack. A bit of a pungent bitterness draws your attention from the rest of the fruity and general yeasty goodness here. Once you can get past that initial shock though this is a delightful drink. Aroma is pretty interesting with a bit of sweetness and some fruit. The fruit comes through to the flavor pretty nicely.

Bottle - 375mL corked and caged called Hanssens Lambic Experimental Cassis. Murky purplish-red pour. Only trace bubbles on the surface. Really no apparent carbonation of which to speak. Aroma is bitingly tart fruits, rotten berries, burnt rubber, lemon juice and wet earth. Musty basement in there as well. Taste is sour fruit, berries, sour cherry, lemon juice, vinegar/acetic acid, wet wood and damp basement. Light cat piss as well. Body is light and slick. No carbonation. Very astringent and acidic feel in the mouth. Bone dry towards the end as well. Ends with more sour fruit, rotten berries, lemon juice, acetic acid/vinegar, wet wood, cat urine and damp forest. Musty, old book as well. Very tasty. Lacking only carbonation which would have put this way over the top!
