| 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Oct 3, 2009 Updated: Oct 18, 2009Bottle: The aroma consists of lots of fresh sweet raspberries with a hint of tartness, vinegar, and oak. It pours a slightly hazy orangish-red with a small soapy ring around the edges of the glass. The flavor instantly hits you with some extreme lemony sourness. There is some light sweet raspberry flavors throughout. The finish is very acidic and has some hints of vinegar. Medium bodied with mild carbonation.
Split another bottle with northernbrews and the aroma was loaded with acetone and the flavor wasn’t nearly as sour. I’ve got a few more bottles and if the rest taste like this one, this rating will be dropping significantly. KimJohansen (7049), Copenhagen V, Denmark

Extremely brutal bier, even though not that "complex".’kin hell, Warning: this beer will ruin your palate for the rest of the evening. Good thing this was the last beer at Fonefan for this visit. | 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jul 6, 2009 A Mes rate. Barrel at the Weekend of Tarts. A very clean candy apple red colour with a faint brown hue. A simply amazing colour. Extremely fruity on the nose. Almost medicinal and quite astringent. Possibly a little over the top for me. The flavour is much better. Tart and fruity as hell. VERY acidic, close to undrinkable but my God it’s good. Massively tart and sour. No juice, just acidic dry madness. Full on red wine vinegar. Certainly too much for some. I loved it. bu11zeye (5496), Frisco, Texas, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Aug 6, 2009 (Draught) Pours a clear red body with no head. Aroma of earth, raspberry, horseblanket, and some paint thinner. Flavor of raspberry, extremely acidic, and vinegar. A raw tongue raper. Probably the tartest lambic I’ve tried! | 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jun 13, 2009 Bottled. A deep red beer with a thin rim of beige head. The aroma has notes of acetone, raspberries, nuts, vinegar, brettanomyces, and horse blanket. The flavor has sweet notes of raspberries in the mouth, while the acidity first hits in the throat, also with notes of vinegar, leading to a tart fruity finish. The mouthfeel is flat. Huge thanks to KimJohansen for sharing. Papsoe (14997), Frederiksberg, Denmark

Intense raspberry aroma with some acetone. Medium body, completely flat, sweet fresh raspberry notes. Has some burning acetone fumes that make you cough. Very sour. 270609 beernbourbon (287), chicago, Illinois, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Sep 13, 2009 Bottle with label "Hanssens Lambic Experimental Raspberry." If this rating is in the wrong place, please let me know. Pour is hazy reddish purple color with no head or carbonation. Aroma is cranberry juice, barnyard, sourness, leather, wood, and notes of glue. Flavor has two simultaneous layers. The most potent is a funky sourness that hits hard at the back of the tongue and the soft palate. A little puckering, almost coughed. The other layer is a velvety, softly sweet, and subtly sour component that flows over the front of the tongue. This component also has a soft oakiness and notes of glue. The flavors become more cohesive as the beer warms and as my palate adjusts. Tasty.
