Clear light gold, highly effervescent. Large white head. Big funky aroma, decent grainy notes too. Some subtle honey tones come through as it warms. Sweet start, with honey and waxy notes, followed by huge citric tart finish. Light and refreshing mouthfeel. Nice interesting beer. Warming feeling present too which I have found with many meads or fruit wines.

Bottle @ Beer Circus, Croydon with Duff & Kook. The colour of honey with a fluffy white head. Aroma is sour, alcoholicand funky. Flavour is sour but balanced by the sweet mead. Alcohol is warming. Interesting...

Bottled. The cork flew out as soon as I let the cage loose. Scared the HELL out of me, Thank God I didn’t have it pointed at my face, it may have killed me! The color is a murky orange/ yellow. Big sour aroma with notes of barnyard, fresh grass and even honey. The flavors are very new to me. The gueuze flavors are of course the first thing that gets you but there is also a shocking dryness to it with a bit of an astringent aftertaste. The carbonation is more on the side of effervescent. Although it leaves the taste of a sweaty horse blanket on my tongue for minutes after each sip, it does grow on me. A very interesting beer.

Holy crap! The cork on this thing bounced off 3 walls and was going about 80mph. Well lets just start off by saying it is very carbonated. HUGE head with a golden appearance. A very sour smell with some lemons and honey in there. The flavor is quite sour with a hint of sweetness from the honey but no much. A very funky vinegar and shrimp? presence. Quite an interesting mix here but they just need to tone down the carbonation before someone gets brown eye.

Okay, I think the first bottle I had must of been a little skunked, and also I wasn’t the best rater back then. This has the nice honey aroma you’d exect. Not quite as good as most meads, but then it’s a mixture. A thick finish and really not sweet at all. Okay. Origianl 1,3,1,1,8. This really smells bad. It’s appearance is the only part of this beer/mead that achieves mediocrity, with a huge head meringue-like head. This is quite possibly the worst drink I’ve ever had, including table wines at crappy restaurants. It reminds of my Grandmas 1973 Rhubarb wine I had a coupla weeks ago in Colorado, only worse.

FIrst attempt at a mead or a gueuze. I like it, but the flavor does taste a little unblended. Fruity aroma, really nice. Flavor is good too... reminds me of tripel karmeliet.

Corked and caged, both of which nearly killed me when I opened it... I should have read the warnings. Orange-yellow colour with an effervescent head, highly carbonated with lasting sparkle. First glass was crystal clear, but the sediment is easily disturbed. Brettanomyces funkiness jumps out of the glass along with a pronounced floral honeyish sweetness. Despite this aroma, the beer shows light funk, green apple and a thin fruity, bone-dry finish. Very refreshing.

gassy as hell, think i may have shaken it during tranportation. some astringent apple aroma, almost like homemade cider. cloudy off yellow hue. light on the palate. minimal malt notes with a minor alcohol presence.
