Opaque golden-tan leather color, bubbly white head after much effort. The nose is an earthy, cardboard combo of sweeter mead elements like honey and the tart, citrus gueuze notes. Thin body and low carbonation, but the highly tart gueuze notes help it from getting too syrupy. The blend isn’t cohesive and is intrinsically odd, but there are parts that work.

heykevin...THankS! amber with a still pour, wah wahhhhhhh. Foot and hay aroma with some light honey notes. Flavor is oaky, spiderwebs, more honey, hay, cheesey cheeeese. Meh finish, too short, needs more sharp sourness.

12oz bottle, last bottle on the shelves at Knightly. Amazing amazing beer this is. Pours a ugly amber with big blackish yeast chunks. Nose is crazy. Tons of sour lemon, funky yeast and horseradish and definite notes of honey. Flavor up front is very guezelike with sulfur, sour lemon and apple, big acidity and tartness. The sourness is pretty mellow and before it gets to strong the mead component kicks in and the point where the two meet gives a very cool horesradish like flavor that I have never quite tasted before. It ends on a slightly sweet tart note dominated by notes of honey and lemon. So crazy complex and insanely good.

Crushed with Jakebra. 2002 bottle. Huge head on this one. The mead balances the sourness a bit but it still comes through beautifully in the finish. Very musty and very awesome. Enjoyed every drop of it.

375ml bottle purchased for $5.99 nice cloudy orange color which is bubbly but really has no head. It smells musty and slightly like honey. The taste is very, very interesting with pronounced honey flavors competing with musty and sour gueuze flavors. No funk or barnyard flavors. This was quite the intriguing beer and the blend with mead really works well. Serving type: bottle Reviewed on: 06-08-2008 16:08:01

Bottle, courtesy Chris. Pours a banana yellow color, with creamy white highlights and a fizzy white head and lacing. Nose is big funk, berries and dark fruit, honey and some caramel. Big tart sweat flavors, honey. Smooth finish. Really nice. Very drinkable, quite balanced and very drinkable, all things considered. No clue how old this bottle was, but it was nice.

courtesy of Chris. Pours cloudy golden with thin white head. Funky vinegar aroma. Taste is funky with light honey palate. Interesting mix, overall funkiness and sour with some lingering sweetness.

Bottle Cork flies off with a loud thwop, some serious presure in here. Pours a hazy golden color with a fizzy white head. Aroma is sour lemons, funk, vinegar, tart sourness. Flavor is funk, vinegar, tart and acidic, leather, some sweetness and musty sawdust. Touch of honey. Interesting....but a little odd.
